Monday Mindset: Guard your heart ❤️

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”‭‭~ Proverbs‬ ‭4:23‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Let’s start the week with a right mindset. The best way to conquer this week is to protect your heart from all emotions. Let’s start moving toward what we know is right, and not what we feel is right. When we involve feelings our situations tend to get messy. Many times emotions fog up our mind and eye sight from seeing what’s ahead of us. There are obvious emotions that are safe to have, for example parent to child. However all emotions that your mind second guesses take it as a red flag. Emotions are dangerous!

The main emotions that trouble our spirit is anger, and disappointment. Anger is the first emotion to arrive on the scene when we don’t get our way. When everything is not according to plan, when things don’t make sense, and when we chose to not care about anything. Anger is what causes us to lash out, shut down emotionally, make irrational decisions, destroy healthy relationships, and places us as a victim of our circumstances. Disappointment is always attached to anger! Disappointment is easily felt when we over-plan or have high expectations of our reality. Is a common feeling that causes a person to believe they are not worthy because their plan didn’t go according to what they thought. Disappointment comes from putting high expectations on ourselves and those who try to met them. These two emotions set the scene to how the rest of your day or week will play out. They hold the control because they are the two emotions that literally consumes your whole being and those who surround you! They are dangerous because they weigh the heaviest on our heart. Every emotion that weighs down the heart causes a dominion affect to your body. One by one everything in you will begin to shut down as a protection mechanism.
God warns us to protect our heart because he knew how passionate us humans will take life. He knew that we will take everything serious and to the heart. However if we prepare ourselves every morning to remain positive, we will avoid many disappointment that will lead to anger! Start the morning knowing that everyday is a new day. Don’t allow negative emotions weigh you down and even less your heart. Things don’t always go according to plan. Short coming have nothing to do with your worth. Take each day one day at a time and remember to smile through life.

PRAYER: REPEAT IF NEEDED.

Lord,
Thank you for everything. Thank you for guiding us and warning us. Thank you for our hearts and allowing it to beat today. Help us to be slow to anger and quick to love. Slow to anger and quick to compassion. Slow to anger and quick to understanding. Remove any negative emotions in our hearts. Guard our hearts father. Amen.
