There is no coincidence that in the middle of the transitions of seasons, people tend to also be in a transition personally. I’m from New England. In New England we are blessed to see all four seasons. Every season we get to see how beautiful God’s ideas are face to face. We are bless to see his working hands in all that he does with our own eye sights. Just how we can see all the beauty, we can see all the things that are not so great.
Every person goes through a season that their neighbor might have overcome or yet experience. Every season that is not handle correctly has more of an impact on your neighbor than what you can imagine. For example, let’s use the seasons that those in New England experience. In the summer everyone strives for happiness, enjoyment, peace, comfort, love, and new adventures. In the autumn everyone strives to find someone to love, become a little less passive in attitude, days that bounces between good and sad, and an new idea on how to reinvent themselves. In the winter; no one wants to hang around and become distant without noticing. Attitudes become more prideful, and selfish. People tend to lose all tolerance or patients. In the spring; everyone wants a fresh start. They want the old gone and new everywhere. Some even go to the extend of changing how they have been to become a new and improve individual. This is usually the season where everyone makes goals and become determine to accomplish them all. As months go by into summer; their goals seem to drift away. Before they know it they begin the same routine all over again. All though theses are weather transitions, see how much power they have in influencing an individual. People have made it possible to follow the weather. Now imagine how easy it is to follow the people who are in transitions into different seasons. It’s obvious that not all things that mankind follow is beneficial.
In the mist of all these weather transition of seasons, I have notice many things. One thing in particular is how easy it is for people to follow individuals who are not walking in God’s path. It’s easier to do bad than good. It’s easier to even do bad to those they love than good. It’s so much easier to do evil that now evil is seen as normal, or not a big deal. I’m speechless sometimes at the way the world is slowly becoming. Speechless because everything that we have read in the good book is slowly making its way to the end. Speechless because he warned us for everything and allowed us to be trained for these exact moments. Well seeing the seasons, I hear Isaiah 5:20-30;
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks, who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice to the innocent. Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel. Therefore the Lord’s anger burns against his people; his hand is raised and he strikes them down. The mountains shake, and the dead bodies are like refuse in the streets. Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away, his hand is still upraised. He lifts up a banner for the distant nations, he whistles for those at the ends of the earth. Here they come, swiftly and speedily! Not one of them grows tired or stumbles, not one slumbers or sleeps; not a belt is loosened at the waist, not a sandal strap is broken. Their arrows are sharp, all their bows are strung; their horses’ hooves seem like flint, their chariot wheels like a whirlwind. Their roar is like that of the lion, they roar like young lions; they growl as they seize their prey and carry it off with no one to rescue. In that day they will roar over it like the roaring of the sea. And if one looks at the land, there is only darkness and distress; even the sun will be darkened by clouds.” ~ Isaiah 5:20-30
Now I’m going to share the few questions that I felt the Lord has been asking me these couple of days. First question, how good is your good? How evil is your evil? Which one do you lean more to? Which one do you act on the most? Is your good my good? Or is your good measured by your own measurements? Do you see me in your good? Do you hear me in your good? Do you see the damages of your evil? Do you see my hand picking up the mess of your evil? Exactly where does your heart stand? So for what he thinks in his heart so is he (Proverbs 23:7) ! Now ask yourself all these questions?
Are we doing the work that we are suppose to be doing as his church? Or are we making our own definition of what good really means to not have to put the effort of the good that the Lord was speaking about. Like seasons that transition, we as well must endure it all. Like the seasons we have the power, even when we don’t see it nor understand it. So whatever transition we go through may it be by the grace of God that we are lead. For we can grow through whatever he wants us to go through, and at the same time be the right hand that our neighbor needs and not the left-hand that destroys everything!
God Bless You
