JOSHUA 1:9

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Discouragement seems to be around a lot more now a day. Sadly, it’s only the beginning of the year, but any enter this year discouraged. Discouraged about their personal life, church, work, projects, and etc. The reality is that discouragement shouldn’t be used as an excuse to give up. I know it’s easier said than done. I too have been discouraged many times. But let me ask you something. Where have you placed your hope in lately? Is it still rooted in God, or idols?
Many times discouragement occurs because we have replaced the essential needs of strength onto things that have no power, and therefore can’t give us power to continue strong. In Joshua 1:9, God is exhorting Joshua to continue being courageous. If he had to exhort Joshua, that meant, moments will occur that would challenge his faith.
Challenges can be anything, but what do you do when you’re feeling unloved and unwanted? That’s an obstacle that could feel impossible to overcome. However just like God told Joshua, I will tell you. “Be strong and courageous…”. Those who don’t love you in the moment, could possible love you in the future. If they don’t, its ok. You will be loved from God and those who were meant to love you. Those who don’t want you, could possible want you in the future. However, if they don’t, you won’t lose anything. Your wanted and chased down by God every day! You will always be wanted even when your unaware of it.
ADVICE: Love and appreciate those who love you presently just how you are. Those who love you without conditions. Want those who want you. Not every person who loves or wants you need to be an extreme relationship deal breaker. Some could love and want you from a distance, and some you can add to your intimate circle. Focus on what God has given you and stay strong!
